Running a File from Your Local Computer

  • Enable the following on Internet Explorer: Internet Options > Advanced > Security > Allow active content to run from files on my Computer.*

Compatibility Mode is Not Supported

By default, files on a local network are displayed in compatibility mode.

  • If loading from a local file, uncheck: Tools > Compatibility View Settings > Display intranet sites in Compatibility View.

To force Internet Explorer to use the latest available version (regardless of Compatibility Mode settings) paste this tag in the header of your HTML page:

            <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge" />

You must restart Internet Explorer after making changes to your settings before testing, as Internet Explorer requires a restart before this security setting will take effect.
